SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Michael Patrick Partners, a nationally recognized creative agency, announced today the viewbook created for Santa Clara University’s undergraduate admissions enrollment campaign won a Circle of Excellence Grand Gold Award from CASE, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. In 2017, CASE received more than 3,364 entries for consideration in nearly 100 categories by more than 715 member higher education institutions, independent schools, and nonprofits from around the world. Judges gave 366 awards: 118 bronze; 125 silver, 107 gold, and 16 grand gold.
The Grand Gold Award level is discresionary. Within each competition gold awards from specific categories are judged against each other where the judges from each division may award one Grand Gold Award to exceptional examples of communication and design.
This Santa Clara University viewbook tells a story of the only institution that has spent the past 150 years effecting change from the heart of the most innovative place on earth—Silicon Valley. The agency developed the messaging content and creative strategy for each of the nine campaign components. It also designed all materials and directed the copywriting team, Peterson Skolnick & Dodge.
Robert Maidens, associate creative director at Michael Patrick Partners, stated, “From the office of Undergraduate Admission to the department of University Marketing and Communications, Santa Clara University is a pleasure to work with. The success of the undergraduate admissions campaign—which garnered the University’s strongest applicant pool to date—is owed to the compelling, honest, and unique story we worked so hard to bring to life. And our photographer eszter+david, illustrator Nate Padavick, and printer Bob Usedom elevated our work.”
As a Grand Gold Award winner, the viewbook will be honored at CASE’s Summit for Leaders in Advancement and will receive recognition in Currents magazine.
In addition to the Grand Gold Award, the viewbook has won a CASE Gold Award, Award of Excellence from University College and Design Association, and Gold and Best of Category from American Advertising Awards (formerly known as the ADDYs) presented by the American Advertising Federation. This is the agency’s fourth CASE medal for an admissions campaign.
